ASHP – SSHP Committee Chair Application 2023-2024
Advancement of Pharmacy Practice Chair
- Encourage student involvement, participation, and pharmaceutical care in the Practice Advancement Initiative (PAI) at a local, state, or national level
- Advocate for leadership development and advancing pharmacy practice through policy
- Increase SSHP chapter collaboration and involvement in various ASHP initiatives
- Develop a strong professional relationship and serve as a reliable resource to all students
- Plan at least one Practice Advancement Initiative (PAI)-related event or program
- Organize the Clinical Skills Competition with the Chapter President and President-Elect
Communications and Community Outreach Chair
- Encourage proper use of medicine in general public
- Plan the Well-being and Resilience event
- Coordinate all community service activities within and outside of campus per semester (health fair screenings, health information events, train members, and obtaining supplies)
- Organize community outreach events to promote and educate the public about issues-related to health-system pharmacy practice
- Recruit student volunteers to participate in all community service events
- Identify Hospitals and Community pharmacies needed for other local events
Career Development and Continuing Education
- Provide information on career alternatives, specialized training, and credentials per semester (ASHP Connect Mentor Program, USHP CE Series, COS Luncheons, etc.)
- Obtain guest speakers to give a presentation for student members to increase awareness for health-system pharmacies and Hospitals (Shadowing Opportunity, etc)
- Maintain educational materials for future community events and health fairs
- Serves as a liaison between USHP and other local community leaders
- Prepare student members for residency programs and other SSHP-based events
- Create an overview timeline and informational handouts for Residency seeking students
