University Of Utah Health Ambulatory Pharmacy Internship Opportunity

The U of U Health Ambulatory Pharmacy Internship is looking to hire 1 intern from the incoming P1 class. This is an incredible opportunity to gain experience in three diverse pharmacy settings! Interns will have the opportunity to train and practice at all 3 sites, with responsibilities progressing as interns advance through the pharmacy school curriculum. Our program is ideal for graduate students as the hour requirements are minimal while offering very flexible hours and boundless learning opportunities. You can find the link to the application below as well as a description of each site.

Greenwood pharmacy provides unique opportunities to learn community pharmacy practice while participating as part of the provider teams for the services offered at the clinic. Interns will provide patient counseling, administer vaccines, prepare and dispense medications for the pharmacy in addition to improving population health measures and providing evidence-based interventions to improve treatment plans for specific patients while working directly with providers and nursing staff.

Home infusion pharmacy is comprised of a multidisciplinary team that coordinates and provides infusion care to patients in their homes or alternate sites of care. Interns have the opportunity to learn and participate in all aspects of home infusion, including sterile compounding, dispensing, care coordination, clinical management, and patient counseling.

Pharmacy Ambulatory Clinical Care Center (PAC3) is comprised of a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who deliver high quality centralized pharmacy services for the University of Utah Health system, including Specialty Pharmacy Services, Prior Authorization Services, and Refill Authorization Services. Interns have the opportunity to work closely with the PAC3 pharmacist and technician team and patients in the therapeutic interchange process to ensure that patients can access the medications they need.
