Transform. Indigenize. Decolonize.

Hello All,

The Student Affairs team is excited to offer a series of conversation sessions on Indigenous culture, philosophies, issues, and ways to support based off of A Visual Learning Guide to Transform, Indigenize, and Decolonized (attached), a curriculum put together by indigenous photographer and storyteller, Matika Wilbur of Project 562. We attended a workshop lead by Matika at NASPA 2024 and were encouraged to bring this curriculum to our institutions in the hopes of providing an opportunity to discuss a new perspective and see how the knowledge can be applied to improving the student experience and sense of community.

We will hold the first session on July 17th from 1:00-2:00 pm in CoP 117 (The Lloynd Lounge). A follow-up session is TBD to see how you have transformed your perspective since and what changes you might find beneficial in the future. Please RSVP to the event by accepting the calendar invite.

Please contact Student Affairs with any questions! Contacts include Jp Varney (jp.varney@pharm.utah.edu), Kamryn Shepherd (kamryn.shepherd@pharm.utah.edu), and Bill Carney (bill.carney@pharm.utah.edu).

Best,
Bill Carney, Jp Varney, and Kammy Shepherd
