PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program – Virginia Mason Franciscan Health

Hello,

We would like to invite interested pharmacy students from The University of Utah College of Pharmacy to a virtual open house hosted by the five PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Programs within Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH). Located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, we truly practice at the top of our license with numerous collaborative practice protocols in both acute and ambulatory care settings. From actively assisting with procedural sedation and emergency medical scenarios to initiating and managing guideline-directed medication therapy for patients with heart failure, our pharmacists enjoy a progressive practice model within a highly supportive health system.

The multiple residency programs within VMFH strive to develop a foundation of critical thinking and leadership skills that will promote continuous professional development and innovation in health care. Our programs affirm a dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in an effort to improve healthcare for underserved and marginalized populations while enhancing our own learning and professional work environments. Our residents receive implicit bias and microaggression training during orientation and participate in ongoing facilitated discussions with the goal of encouraging self-reflection, raising consciousness, and providing ongoing support.

We believe the work your organization has done provides your students with experiences that will be an asset to our residency program and our patients. We would greatly appreciate your consideration in sharing this information with students or student organizations that may be interested in learning more about post-graduation opportunities.
