Generation Rx Events Upcoming
Hello everyone!
Generation Rx has several events coming up in April that we’d love your participation in:
1. Saturday April 1, 11 am – 2 pm Brown Bag Event at The Wellington. Residents of this assisted living facility will be bringing all their medications (or a list of them) to us for pharmacy students and pharmacists to assess for indication, safety, efficacy, and adherence. This is a great opportunity to practice your comprehensive medication management and counseling skills and answer questions for members of the community to help them feel more confident with their medications.
2. Wednesday April 5, 10:30 am – 12 pm Medication Management for Older Adults. Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services has an Aging Mastery Program that they offer to help older adults make the most of their retirement years. Each week involves a different module with presentations by guest speakers who are community experts on the various topics. One topic is Medication Management, and they would love for pharmacy students (soon-to-be medication experts!) to come present for them.
3. Friday April 14, 8:30 am- 9:30 am and 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Naloxone Presentation. Similar to last semester at JATC, we will be presenting to high school students at Granite School District’s pharmacy technician training program (GTI) about the opioid epidemic, naloxone, and pharmacy’s role in all of it.
All of these events are available for sign up in the Co-Curricular Events System. Feel free to reach out Elizabeth Schindler if you have any questions about any of them!
